馃拵 Phext Edit
A web editor for phext files.
What it does
Phext is plain text arranged in 11 dimensions. A phext file holds many scrolls, and each
scroll lives at a coordinate such as 1.1.1/1.1.1/1.1.1. Phext Edit lets you work
with those files from a browser:
- move through a phext by coordinate, or step to the next or previous scroll that has text
- read and edit any scroll, then save it back to the phext file on the server
- browse the file as a tree of its dimensions and search its text
- switch between the phext files the server hosts
Phext Edit is part of the open-source phext-lattice project.
Public utilities
Some parts of this site need no sign-in at all:
- Up Goer Five: check writing against the ten hundred most used words, and see each word's phext coordinate.
- Coordinate TTS demo: hear phext coordinates spoken aloud.
- Learn You Phext: an introduction to phext that is itself a phext, scroll by scroll.
Why it asks you to sign in
The files on this server can be changed, so only approved editors may open them. You can sign in with your Google or GitHub account. Sign-in is used for one thing: to check who you are, so the server can tell whether your account is on its list of editors.
- Google sign-in asks for your basic profile and email address
(
openid, email, profile). - GitHub sign-in asks for read-only access to your public profile
(
read:user).
Phext Edit does not read your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or repositories. It does not post anything for you, and it does not share or sell your information. The Privacy Policy gives the details.
