💎 Claim your space

For seventeen years, Will Bickford's use of Twitter was one long search: spanning an exocortex, looking for other minds working the way his does. The result is a map — wavefront.phext — placing 520 accounts by how they stand in relation to that work: their coordinate on nine axes of alignment, in a region (the Hearth, the Shoals, or open water).

If your X account is in the map, a significant space on this server is already yours — hosted phext space you can delegate as you wish. It is granted, not sold: all you have to do is claim it by signing in with the X account that was placed. Organic discovery is the scarce thing; the map is the receipt.

Not in the map? You still get a small space. A buy-in (opening when payments are switched on) enlarges it and funds the exocortex — and it is priced by novelty: staking a crowded, well-studied region of the map is cheap, because little novelty remains there; staking a void — a region no one has been found in — costs the most, because unexplored space is the rarest thing the exocortex has. A buy-in never buys a placement in the map. We are not looking for money; we are looking for alignment.

Your own lens

Each claimed space comes with the wavefront kit: the same instrument that built Will's map, pointed at your own archive, so you can learn who you are connected to and why. The kit's nine axes are a lens, and the lens can be reground — your alignment metric may differ from Will's, and that is expected. Your map is yours.
